  2. Romans 13:11-14, Three Admonitions • Wake up.

Wake up from spiritual sleep. • Romans 13:11 And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. • 1 Corinthians 10:11 Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come. • 1 Thessalonians 5:1-10

  4. Wake up from spiritual sleep. • Get our priorities straight. Walk worthy of our calling. • Ephesians 5:13-16 • 2 Peter 3:11-14 • Our salvation is nearer every second. • John 9:4-5 • How would our lives change if we knew Jesus was coming back next Sunday?

  7. Cast off the works of darkness. • Romans 13:12-13 The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. 13 Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. • Romans 6:1-2, 12-13 • Ephesians 4:17-24

  9. Put on Jesus. • Romans 13:14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts. (v. 12, put on the armor of light) • Provision – provide for (like God’s providence) • Galatians 5:24-25 • Ephesians 5:8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light

  10. Put on Jesus. • We put on Christ in baptism, Galatians 3:26. • We must remain in Christ. It is an ongoing process. • Ephesians 3:17, 2 Corinthians 5:7, 1 John 2:3-6

  11. Wake up now! • Believe – John 3:16 • Confess – Romans 10:9-10 • Repent – Acts 17:30 • Be Baptized – 1 Peter 3:21 • Be Faithful – Hebrews 3:12
