  6. Using Pre/Post Assessments • Participants will walk away with a holistic approach to assessing student understanding including pre and post assessments, error analysis, and strengthening student discourse

  7. Incorporating Extensions • Participants will understand the need to incorporate challenges and extensions in their regular daily instruction • Participants will leave with a framework for designing and implementing several different types of extensions

  8. Incorporating Technology • Participants will learn how to use technology to develop higher level thinking skills in mathematics • Participants will also explore how technology can be used to foster communication, collaboration, and critical thinking in the mathematics classroom

  9. Incorporating Games • Participants will understand how to extend student knowledge by moving beyond a superficial game experience to a deeper level of mathematical understanding

  10. Mathematics in the Kindergarten Classroom • Participants will examine the use of assessment in the Kindergarten classroom to drive instruction • Participants will also understand how to use questioning strategies, assessment and differentiation to deepen the mathematical content of their lessons
