The ITP sector • Institutes of Technology and Polytechnics come directly under NZQA’s Quality management framework, via • Very prescriptive Quality Approvals process. • ITP engineering programmes are Sydney Accord (3 yr Eng Technology degree) and Dublin Accord (2yr Diploma) • Programme design and development has utilised principles of constructive alignment

  3. Constructive Alignment • Term coined by John Biggs (Biggs, 1999) • Underpinning concept behind current requirements for programme specification, intended learning outcomes, and assessment criteria
