CDMD-OA CONFIGURATION DATA MANAGERS DATABASE – OPEN ARCHITECTURE (CDMD-OA) • Tracks the status and maintenance of naval equipment on ships and naval activities. • The term "open architecture" is used to denote the fact that CDMD-OA is a client/server-based system, not dependent upon any vendor's proprietary hardware or software; data may flow to and from CDMD-OA provided that open protocols are used. • CDMD-OA was designed specifically to aid in the tracking of configuration data by shore-based Configuration Data Managers (CDMs).

  3. NAVSEA EFFORT IHD Det Earle role • Designated by NAVSEA04L5 as a “Trusted Agent” for TMDE • Responsibilities as a Trusted Agent • Prepare work files for submission to CDM • Verify CDMD-OA input data • Initiate and monitor equipment Initial Outfitting • Review records relating to work files

Trusted Agent responsibility Initial Outfitting Process • Essential part of completing and tracking the NAVSEA Test Equipment Modernization Effort by ensuring Initial Outfitting GPETE is entered into CDMD-OA • Test equipment gets recorded in CDMD-OA in a timely manner. • Records are logistically sound

  5. Trusted Agent responsibility Record Review • Update existing CDMD-OA test equipment records to ensure that the current SPETERL process will record the correct onboard inventory • Review Model, Cage, SCAT Code and APL for existing CDMD-OA records

  6. Task for AIRLANT Initial Outfitting • Prepare CDMD-OA Initial Outfitting Records for AIRLANT using the following process • Receive a Naval Message prepared by FTSCLANT (formerly ILO Portsmouth warehouse) to report shipment to end user • Create and submit a CDMD-OA workfile to CDMs • Forward a on-going report to AIRLANT showing what equipment has to shipped to date and corresponding CDMD data entries completed • Verify record entry in CDMD-OA after 45 days • Create work files to delete test equipment records for items turned-in due to the Fleet Modernization Effort

TMDE teaming effort Benefits of using TMDE team as Trusted Agent • Activity and TYCOM can track test equipment records in CDMD-OA for initial outfitting procurements originating from NAVSEA Modernization Effort • Quality of data in CDMD-OA is consistent • Maintains data integrity • Accuracy in SPETERL inventory
