  2. How it works for you • Made up of neurons and axons-pathways for knowledge. • USE IT OR LOSE IT!-National Institute of Mental Heath Neural connections that are used, are retained, while those that are not exercised are lost. Make use of your brain and it will work better for you!

  3. So-now we exercise! • When you go to a gym to exercise, you can’t expect to have giant biceps, a teeny little waist and a killer bod the first time you try the bench press. • You start with small weights and lots of reps to gradually build muscle. • Long-term studying is the same idea.

  4. You can’t do well on tests if you don’t exercise first!

  5. Lots of reps • To easily recall information, we have to see it, hear it, do it, write it, etc. 6 or more times. • Just like building muscle, you have to perform many sets while adding a little weight each time.

  6. Lots of Reps • Reviewing for each class daily will be just like reps in the gym. Daily Review = Better Grades Reps in the Gym = Healthier Bod and Bigger Muscles

  7. Examples of daily exercises Gym Exercises Bench press Preacher Curls Leg Lifts Calf Raises Studying Exercises Cornell Notes Quiz Myself Index Cards Study Groups Flash Cards Lists Graphic Organizers Healthier/Better Body Better Grades
