  10. 1910.120 - HAZWOPER • Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response - A Safety and Health program - A comprehensive plan to develop procedures, and identify and control hazards - Standard Operating Procedures for Safety and Health - A Safety and Health plan that integrates the general program with a specific site - A Safety and Training Program - A Medical Surveillance Program

Safety and Training Program • All employees who may be exposed to hazardous substances must be trained to the level their job requires before they are permitted to engage in, supervise, or manage hazardous waste operations…Employees who are on-site, but are not potentially exposed over the PEL, are required to have a minimum of 24 hours off-site instruction and one day of field experience. All affected employees must complete 8 hours of rfresher training annually.

  12. General Requirements for PPE • Employer must complete a hazard assessment in order to identify PPE needed • Every employee required to PPE must be trained in the care and use of it.
