Lecture Culturelle – textbook pp. 52-53 • Look at pictures, titles and captions • Predict what the passage will tell you • Read the passage. • Look for cognates as you read. • Make a list of cognates • Write a summary in English of the passage • Write answers to the questions – text p. 53

  3. SOS Médecins • ...Le 20 juin 1966, le Docteur LASCAR, médecin généraliste à Paris, créait SOS MÉDECINS suite à un fait tragique. Un de ses patients, décède d'une crise cardiaque, faute d'avoir pu joindre un médecin un samedi après-midi.Paradoxalement, relate le Docteur LASCAR : « le week-end précédent, en butte à une fuite d'eau dans ma baignoire, j'avais été dépanné dans le quart d'heure par SOS DÉPANNAGE ». Jugeant que la santé de l'homme valait mieux qu'un simple tuyau de plomb, il créa SOS MÉDECINS.A une époque où le SAMU n'existe pas, le concept est révolutionnaire. Depuis, SOS MÉDECINS France représente 70 Associations dont les médecins ont effectué plusieurs millions de visites...
