  2. Introduction Basically this presentation is going to explain the importance of writing a correct letter to someone. Two types of letters that will be reviewed in the presentation are: 1.) Personal Letter, 2.) Business Letter.

  3. Components to Personal Letters • Personal letters are used to share the details of a moment in someone’s life with someone else. • They help keep in touch with family and friends that cannot be reached easily. • Personal letters can be about anything. It normally is about an event that happens which the sender wishes to tell the receiver. • Make sure to included a mailing address and return address.

  4. Example of Personal Letter: - Return address - Receiver's name - Receiver’s Address - Salutation - Body - Complimentary Close - Writer

  5. Componets to a Business Letter • Business letters are sent for all sorts of reasons through out the world. • They should be specific on the topic, but not demanding. • Also in the letter, include facts on the topic you choose to write about, explain the problem thoroughly . • Always include an address, and return address.

  6. Example of Business Letter: - Return Address - Receiver’s Name - Receiver’s Address - Salutation Body - Complimentary Close - Writer’s Signature - Writer

  7. Before Sending Letter Editing and Revising are both things that need to be done before the letter is sent. The mechanics behind fixing them vary depending on what type of letter you’re writing. Also check and make sure there is an address to the place your sending as well as your own.

  8. Personal Revising and Editing • Personal letters can have different lingo and have many abbreviations. This depends on who you sending it to • The grammar should be checked over, but should not be overly worried about. Normally the letter is sent to a friend who won’t care about you bad grammar.

  9. Business Revising and Editing • Grammar should to be carefully reviewed, words must be spelled correctly, and sentence structure should be done properly. • Also include with your sentences a complete thought/idea.
