Engage students in exploring Constitutional amendments by creating a themed product box. Cover the box, draw the main idea of the chosen amendment, and reflect on its importance through writing. Include original and simplified text of the amendment. Conclude with a class presentation.
E N D
Amendment Project (150 points) • Pick an Constitutional Amendment • Find a product box (crackers, cookies, cereal, etc…) • Cover the box in paper • Write your name, date, and class period on the box-10 points • On the front of the box students must draw a picture showing the main idea of their amendment and write which amendment they chose.-30 points • On one of the skinny sides of the box, write your answer to the question Why do you think the amendment is important? -15 points • On the other skinny side of the box, have a parent or other adult answer the question, Why do you think the amendment is important?-15 • On the back of the box, students are to include the following: • The written words of the amendment-15 points • The amendment re-written in their own words-15 points
