The 5T (vertical field) magnet Slim Sam was tested in powgen in February. • The in plane detectors on powgen can be used for this magnet • We observe Al diffraction from the VTI in all detectors even with the fine radial collimator. • Background subtraction can work in certain cases, but background data will need to be collected for all temperatures that sample is measured at. • Since the background diffraction peaks are all from Al, no peaks is observed beyond 2.3Å. • Users wanting to use magnet on powgen should contact Ashfia Huq to determine feasibility.
