  1. The Approval to Submit Process For Grants at HCC

  2. Why an Approval to Submit? We can assure you that the Approval to Submit form is NOT being routed to keep an intern busy!

  3. Communication & Control During the proposal development process different departments at HCC may be tasked with assisting a P.I. by providing information, departmental approvals, data, etc… The Approval to Submit Form allows these departments a control to certify that pertinent information/approval is represented in an accurate manner before submission to the grantor.

  4. Resource Allocation Oftentimes grant-funded projects leverage resources at the college (in-kind, cost sharing, etc…) and the Approval to Submit Form will allow departments impacted by a grant-funded project a complete view of utilized resources and the scope of work involved.

  5. Effective & Efficient Grants Management As a component of the College’s Grant Management System the Approval to Submit Form has been implemented to make routing grant proposals more efficient and allow for any substantive issues relating to submission to be resolved in a timely manner.

  6. The Approval to Submit within the Context of the Grants Process at HCC The grants development process, endorsed by Dr. Atwater at the 11/9/2010 Cabinet Meeting, can be found in Appendix 5.1 of HCC’s Grants Manual. The Approval to Submit step, completed by the Grants Office, Grants Accounting, all involved departments, and Dr. Atwater is the last step conducted internally before a grant proposal is submitted to an external funding source (i.e. Federal Agency, Foundation) Submission To Grantor
