    4. Each person involved with the state assessment program has received General Security and Confidentiality training and MUST have a signed oath on file. The oaths for the 2012 year will be retained in the FIRST STAAR binder created (March). Review of General Security and Confidentiality requirements are in the Test Administrator Manuals. Test administrators who are going to use a student test booklet must sign the Viewing Secure Content section. General Security and Confidentiality ONE oath for entire testing 2012.     9. ANY student who is receiving an accommodation MUST be informed of what accommodation(s) and the level of that accommodation they will be receiving PRIOR to beginning the state assessment. Students with Accommodations

    10. Directions for STAAR and STAAR Modified are the same for MATH. Students will locate reference materials and graph paper inside the test booklet. They are torn out, test administrators may help students tear out these pages.     11. STAAR L students MUST be assessed in a separate room from STAAR and STAAR M. For the STAAR L version of the math test there are special call out boxes in the test administrator directions. STAAR L students will not use all the bubbles on the answer document. ELLs with the linguistic accommodation, English clarification, have a special call out box with directions for the student. The test administrator may need the English Clarification Guide (ECG) for math, if the student has the accommodation of Clarification in English. STAAR L Math

    12. Test administrators MUST have the SAME form number as the students test booklets. STAAR and STAAR M MUST be in separate rooms for an oral administration. Test administrators must be familiar with the content. Test administrators must review Appendix C for specific information on an oral administration. Test administrators must sign the Viewing Secure Content portion of their oath. Test administrators write their names somewhere on the cover of the test booklet that they are issued.     16. Separate test administrator directions for STAAR and STAAR Modified. STAAR M test administrators will need to be issued a student booklet. Prereading text is included in STAAR M. The prereading text may be read as many times as necessary. However, it may only be reread PRIOR to students reading the selection. Specific direction differences for the oral administration of questions/answers is based on ALL or PART. 6th/7th grade reading---dictionaries/thesaurus must be available (1 for every 5 students). 3rd, 4th, 6th, 7th Grade Reading

    17. Test administrator and ALL students MUST have test booklets with the same form number. Students taking STAAR, STAAR L, or STAAR M CANNOT be tested together. TA explains the level of reading support being provided based on documentation prior to testing. Appendix C has specific instructions for OA. Specific direction differences for the oral administration of questions/answers is based on ALL or PART. ALL TAs who use a student booklet MUST sign the section of their oath regarding the viewing of secure content (OA, transcribers, Modified TAs). They also need to put their name on cover.     18. A student who qualifies for the STAAR L version of math, science, and social studies, has to take a STAAR reading test. There is no L version of reading, so they take STAAR reading (English or possibly Spanish in grades 3 or 4, dependent upon language). Student Issue

    25. Due to the fact that we moved the test date for social studies to Monday, April 23rd, test administrators WILL read the directions on pg. 54 for ALL students. On Thursday, students then follow directions on pg. 54 ONLY if they are given a different book or have been absent all week. Grade 8 Social Studies

    28. BEFORE conducting an oral administration, read Appendix C. Reading Test questions and answer choices Reading selections may NEVER be read aloud to a student Must be read aloud in the order they are presented Math-Science-Social Studies Test questions and answer choices Must be read aloud in the order they are presented Test question must be read aloud prior to reading the answer choices Any words, number or symbols that appear on the state-supplied mathematics reference materials or an allowable supplemental aid my be read aloud to an eligible student Test Administrator Manual pg. 97-106 (Grades 6-8) or pg. 115-128 (Grades 3-5) Oral Administration

    29. Test administrators may read aloud any word, phrase, or sentence in the test questions and answer choices as many times as needed. At the end of the test, the test administrator may go back to reread a question and its answer choices at a students request. Test administrators must be familiar with content-specific terms and symbols associated with the subject-area tests. Test administrators must know students reading support levels and if a student can change the level of support. Oral Administration

    30. ALL questions and answer choices TA MUST have a test booklet with the same form number as the students. PART questions and answer choices TA can read over a students shoulder. However if the TA reads aloud out of a separate book, MUST have a test booklet with the same form number as the students. STAAR Versions For STAAR Modified each campus will only receive ONE form number, so all should have the same form numberbe careful with additional orders. Only one form of STAAR L. District overage will be FORM 1 for STAAR assessments. Oral Administration

    33. STAAR M for reading ALWAYS, due to prereading text, MUST have the same FORM NUMBER. STAAR M math, science, and social studies oral administration MUST have the same FORM NUMBER. STAAR (English and Spanish) oral administrations for reading, math, science, or social studies MUST have the same FORM NUMBER. Test Booklet Issues

    34. SORT YOUR BOOKSto make sure all oral administrations have the SAME FORM NUMBER. If you do not have enough of a specific form number, order from the Testing Dept., you will get FORM 1 for STAAR and the specific campus issued form number for STAAR M. STAAR L must always be tested separately. STAAR and STAAR M depends on the accommodations for math, science, and social studies. STAAR and STAAR M reading are ALWAYS SEPARATE. Oral administrations are ALWAYS separate based on test type. Organization

    35. Begin testing NO LATER than 9:15 a.m. Students arriving AFTER 9:15 a.m. will be held in a specified location. Late arriving students will be placed in a testing room at 10:00 a.m. Separate room from students who started at 9:15 a.m. Students will begin testing at 10:00 a.m. Each student will be provided a 4-hour testing session, unless the student has extended time.     37. The campus coordinator checklist was designed directly from the District and Campus Coordinator Manual. Clarification on any item may be found in the DCCM. Campus training must be conducted by April 20, 2012. Coordinator Checklist.
