Effective July 1, 2011, House Bill 48 has eliminated several state tests that are not mandated by federal law or required for federal grants. The affected subjects include Algebra II, Civics and Economics, Physics, and U.S. History. The revised testing calendars and requirements can be accessed through the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction links provided. For operational testing schedules and alternative assessments, guidelines for field testing and census protocols are also detailed to ensure compliance and proper tracking for the academic year.
