Action (Kingsman: The Secret Service) What narrative is given to us? • The narrative given to us as the audience is that it will follow agents and spies. • From this what do you expect the rest of the films narrative will be from the little information you have seen? • From this opening scene I know that I would expect to see action and a lot of high technology, as well as character development.

  2. Kingsman: The Secret Service Who is the targeted audience for this film ? • This film has been targeted towards a male audience of 15 upwards. How do we know this from the opening sequence and titles? • I know this because action films are normally directed towards men. The large scale fights and action normally attract a young male audience.

  3. Kingsman: The Secret Service Do you think this is a successful opening scene? • I think that it is a successful opening scene as it is full of action. Although it doesn’t leave a lot of questions to answer it is definitelynot a boring start to a film.

  4. Kingsman: The Secret Service How many characters are introduced and what information do we know about them? What assumptions can you make about them ? How has their representation been constructed through the technical elements? • In This scene we are introduced to one main character, Harry. We know that Harry works for the Kingsman service and that he is an honorable man. We. Can make the assumption that he is a very important character and that he will be involve in the movie the whole time.
