  2. Why are we here today? • Growth is one of L’Arche Canada’s three strategic priorities • L’Arche’s internal and external environment is very different than in the past. We need to be intentional • It is the role of the National Council to help discern and guide our future directions Today is about discussing and discerning our commitment to grow – opportunities, challenges, hopes and fears and to counsel our leaders in this area of our hoped for future.

GALLERY WALK • What is a gallery walk? • A gallery walk is a discussion technique to help us actively engage with ideas and each other • We can share our ideas and thoughts in small groups as we circulate between different areas • What do we want from you? • Think about what you see and what it means for L’Arche • Ask questions about the posters and each other’s thoughts • Write downideas and thoughts that intrigue you

GALLERY WALK – Instructions • Groups spend20 minutes at each station (5 total) • For the first 5minutes, read and reflect individually on the content presented at your station • Take the next 15 minutesto discuss the station questions • Write down your own key takeaways; these will be used for our plenary discussion

GALLERY WALK – Plenary session • Take 4 post-it notes (2 green, 2 yellow) • Write down your observations: • On the green post-its, write 2 things that excite you about what you learnt in the gallery • On the yellow post-its, write 2 things that concern you about what you learnt in the gallery

PERSONAL REFLECTION Instructions • Please take the next 20 minutes to think about everything you have seen and discussed today – feel free to find a quiet area for this reflection • In your booklet there are 2 questions for reflection and space for you to write down some notes • When you return to the large group you will have an opportunity to share your reflections
