Summary of Jobs Program Activities: May 2007 • Continued to meet with Union Local 300 and Carpenters Union Local 409 Field Representatives to discuss progress in hiring new and existing union members from the Expo corridor. Will meet with the Unions on a monthly basis. • Work with PVJOBS to establish and implement job readiness and screening program for interested residents along the Expo alignment. • Distributed Expo Jobs Program information throughout the Expo Corridor to libraries, community organizations, senior centers and retail establishments • Established a networking relationship with the City of Los Angeles Association of Minority Business Opportunity Center (MBOC) to identify DBE firms for potential contracting opportunities • Continued to update database of individuals interested in seeking employment with the Expo Local Jobs Program.
