  3. - The XVth International Conference “X-ray Diffraction and Crystal Chemistry of Minerals (St. Petersburg, September 2003) - lecture and booth Participants 160: 140 from Russia and 20 from Western Countries

  4. 1-st XRD Clinic at Moscow State University (June 2003) • - 8 attendees from cement and metallurgy companies • 2-nd clinic is scheduled on July 5-10, 2004

  5. GiA workshop (Ekaterinburg/Moscow, September-October 2003)ICDD instructors – T. Blanton & E. Antipov, R. Shpanchenko, A. Mironov, materials – S. Wolkov, local organizers – V. Zubkov & A. Tyutyunnik) About 30 participants: Institute of Solid State Chemistry, Institute of High-Temperature Electrochemistry and Institute of Metallurgy (Ekaterinburg), Institute of Inorganic Chemistry and Institute of Catalysis (Novosibirsk), Institute of Geology of Komi Science Centre, Bashkir State University and Sterlitamak State Pedagogical Institute (all Sterlitamak), Institute of Organic and Physical Chemistry (Kazan) and Baikal Institute of nature Management (Ulan-Ude).

  6. Problems: • On-line patterns submission • Quality of calculated patterns • Pricing policy for PDF-4 • Next GiA – Novosibirsk, Fall 2005 • Other activities: • Lectures about ICDD products – March 2003, St. Petersburg, September 2003, Mariupol, Ukraine

  7. Plans for 2004/2005 1) Advertising ICDD products at different meetings and conferences in Russia: in Moscow (April and June 2004), Ekaterinburg (October 2004) etc. 2) Develop effective marketing ICDD products in Russia. 2) Recommend active powder diffractionists for the ICDD membership. 3) Facilitate Grant-in-Aid proposals from Russian scientific institutes. 4) Train diffractionists from various institutes. 5) 2nd XRD clinic in Russia at MSU (July 2004 for industrial companies)
