  2. ID is Learner Centered • Learners and their performance are the focal points of all teaching and learning activities. • Change in perspective from teaching to learning.

  3. ID is Goal Oriented • Establishing well defined goals = key! • Make sure your goals can be implemented appropriately!

  4. ID Focuses on Meaningful Performance • Prepare your learners to engage in meaningful and complex behaviors. • Always try to make the learning as authentic as possible!

  5. ID Assumes Outcomes Are Reliable and Valid • You must create a learning experience where your assessments accurately portray that learning has occurred! • Reliability deals with how consistent the results are. • Validity concentrates on how authentic the learning is.

  6. ID is Empirical, Iterative, and Self-Correcting • Instructional Designers collect data and feedback throughout implementation. • To successfully complete the project, each step needs to be rationally thought about and put into action. • ID process is not always as linear and sequential as most of the ID models imply.

  7. ID is Usually a Team Effort • Most projects require the specialized skills of a variety of people.
