  2. Shinto Facts • Shinto has no known founders nor a founding date • Indigenous to Japan • Religious texts are Kojiki, Nihongi or Nihon shoki • Polytheistic based on the kami • Worship and offerings are brought to the kami at shrines at home, also known as purification rituals

  3. Shinto beliefs • Humans are pure by nature and can keep away evil through purification rituals • Humans can attain good things by calling on the kami • Death is bad and impure; some humans become kami after death • In the Shinto, there is no right or wrong, nobody is perfect

  4.
