  3. History of YMCA of the Upper Main Line • UMLY was founded in 1964 • The Association MISSION is to enrich our community by building a healthy Spirit, Mind and Body for all.

History of YMCA of the Upper Main Line The Y is unique in many ways, most importantly in the diversity of its members and staff who come from all walks of life.  No one is turned away for inability to pay.  Serving the communities of Berwyn, Paoli, Devon, Frazer, Newtown Square, Malvern, Strafford, Wayne, Exton, and Downingtown, the Y is open to all regardless of economic status, race, gender, age, and physical or mental limitations.

History of YMCA of the Upper Main Line The Y is one of the oldest and largest social service organizations in the world dedicated to education, wellness, children’s causes, the environment, arts and leisure.  To these ends, we offer a large variety of programs in a healthy, safe and inclusive environment that builds “strong kids, strong families, strong communities”.  The Upper Main Line YMCA in Berwyn, the Lionville Community YMCA in Lionville, and the YMCA in Eagleview (located at the Eagleview Corporate Center in the Exton area).  Today, we serve 20,000+ youth and families in Delaware and Chester County.1 in 5 members of our community belong to the Y.  We are also the leading employer of teens in the area.

  8. 5,500 swim lessons and water fitness classes; 414 kids age 5 and up on Swim Teams 1000 fathers and children in the Y Adventure Guides program $340,992 in financial assistance to youth and families 700 seniors took part in activities for older adults ranging from fitness classes to weekly card games & trips 250 mentally-challenged participants in the Open Doors program 2,100+ from tots to teens attended summer camps 250 children visited with Santa at our Breakfast with Santa events Products & Services

  9. 180 children in day care centers and 231 tots in preschool programs 2,000 Middle School teens in Friday Night Dances 1,548 participants in music, theater, dance or environmental education classes. 1,462 individuals volunteered 33,361 hours serving the YMCA 1,500 people introduced to foreign customs & cultures through our International Initiatives - Diwali, Chinese New Year, and Japanese Kodomo No Hi to name a few. Payroll Information Read and understand all policies and procedures Direct all payroll questions to you supervisor first Replacement of ID Cards Payday is every other Friday All checks are mailed Direct deposit is available through the HR Office Notify HR immediately of changes in your address or status Payroll corrections forms must be signed by the employee and submitted FIRST to the supervisor for their authorization Clocking in is a condition of employment

Emergency Procedures • Red Manual (available in department and Welcome Desk) • STAY CALM • First Aid Kits throughout facility / AED’s on Wall • Fire Exits Marked • Serious Medical Emergencies • Call Front Desk (Immediately!!!) • Call 911 if no answer at the first desk • Notify CPR staff (lifeguards/aquatic staff)

  21. Emergency Procedures • Non-medical emergencies should be directed to a supervisor • Complete Accident/Incident Forms • Write only facts • List witnesses (name and phone number) • Give copy to all authorized parties listed on forms • Refer requests for copies from members to Controller
