THE PROGRAM Natural Area Acquisition Projects: • Wetlands/wildlife habitat at Rogers Lake ($5,740,000) • Old growth forest near Naval Observatory ($4,300,000) • Wildlife habitat near Walnut Canyon ($2,580,000) • Open space at McMillan Mesa ($285,000) • Forested lands on Observatory Mesa ($2,580,000) and at Fort Tuthill County Park ($2,150,000) • Wetlands/forests near Kachina Village ($1,440,000)

Natural Areas • Arizona State Trust Land designated for low- and medium-density housing • Protect old growth forests, wetlands, and wildlife habitat for people to recreate in and learn from “The recreational needs for all ages, abilities, and skill levels can be met by retaining a diverse system of open spaces.” - Flagstaff Area Open Spaces and Greenways Plan, Executive Summary, page 11

The Program (continued) Park Development, Completion and Enhancement Projects: • Community park in or near Tuba City ($2,150,000) • Interpretive areas at Antelope Canyon, Grand Falls, and the Little Colorado River Overlook ($570,000) • Complete historic portions of Fort Tuthill and continuation of fairgrounds improvements ($2,150,000)

The Program (continued) Park Development, Completion and Enhancement Projects (continued): • Complete construction of performing arts amphitheater ($1,720,000) and pay a portion of existing lease/purchase agreements ($3,000,000) at Fort Tuthill • Develop trail systems from Flagstaff to Doney Park/Timberline-Fernwood ($1,120,000) and from Kanab to Fredoniaalong Kanab Creek ($70,000) • Develop recreational facilities at Raymond ($800,000), Peaks View ($1,440,000), Sawmill ($180,000), and Cataract Lake ($725,000) county parks

CCPR’s Mission “To provide recreational opportunities by developing and managing regional parks, trails, and natural areas.” CCPR’s Vision: “The Coconino County Parks and Recreation Department will improve the quality of life for all by partnering with others to offer a variety of recreational experiences, provide quality facilities and services, protect natural and historic areas, and develop educational opportunities throughout the county for a diverse and growing population.”
