P A participatory methodology… Adapted to the DE Partnership Fair Vienna, 9-10-11 October 2006 Writing successful applications Presentation It is a participants-centred methodology, originate by Harrison Owen in 1986, through which the participants in a meeting can discuss issues of their interest in a free structured way. Participants propose themes for discussion and split into groups of a variable number of people. In the context of the DE Partnership Fair, groups are oriented to create partnership for specific joint programmes which will be hopefully (but not necessarily) be implemented through a grant of the European Commission or other donors. Looking at your applications for this event, we propose 18 issues to start the work. But you can propose more, at any moment of this event.

We will give you some suggestions on how to make the most out of this time, but you are free to follow our suggestions or not. However, this freedom must be combined with a strong sense of responsibility. To yourself, to your organisation and to your potential partners. This means that you engage to work in a constructive and honest way. If you are not getting value where you are, just go somewhere else.
