  2. Correlation • Correlation is a statistical measurement of the relationship between two variables. Possible correlations range from +1 to –1. • Stronger the correlation the more closely the two things are related.

  3. Positive Correlation • As one variable increases so does the other • As one variable decreases so does the other

  4. Negative Correlation • As one variable increases the other decreases

  5. Causation • Correlation does not necessarily imply causation • Causation does not necessarily imply correlation • Causation is an action that produces an effect
