Onshore Services Graphical ALERTS Phased Alert System Definitions • Alerts are available via email push and by logging into Your Weather Website. • Alerts are issued and color coded by threat, with your organization having control over the actual color used for each alert parameter/type. • Alerts are further customizable with the ability for your organization to include safety notes or guidelines that correspond to each parameter and threat level. • - Time of issuance will depend on the severity of the weather expected and the forecaster's confidence that the severe weather will actually affect your site.

Critical Temperature Advisories • ALERT FORMAT: CRITICAL TEMPERATURE ADVISORY • Temperature, apparent temperature, or specific heat index are forecasted, which highlight extended extremes. • Forecast includes up to 7 days of hourly temperatures. • Details the duration and intensity of major heat and cold events. • Depicts timeline until next phase of prevention program is predicted to trigger. Model graphics can help illustrate track confidence or lack of it StormGeo’s computer model plots allow you to see some of the same data that our hurricane meteorologists are viewing as they prepare the track forecasts. Model tracks can be added or removed at the click of a button. Update Frequency:Generally updated every 6 hours, but some models only update every 12 hours.

  24. Forecasts of hourly wind, rainfall and storm surge are provided ImpactWeather’s forecast for conditions at a site in the pathof a tropical cyclone. Includes: Hourly breakdown of wind speed, direction, and gusts. Discussion of rainfall amounts andexpected times Discussion of storm surge heightand duration at a site Update Frequency:Every 6 hours, immediately following our track forecast updates.

Rainfall graphics detail expected amounts along path of storm Update Frequency: Since projected rainfall only changes when the forecast track and landfall point is adjusted, the rainfall maps may not be updated with each 6-hour forecast cycle. They will generally be produced once a tropical cyclone is several days from landfall.

  26. Storm surge graphics detail potential surge height and inundation Typical SLOSH (Sea, Lake, and Overland Surges from Hurricanes) forecast for the storm surge in a particular coastal basin. It represents the highest potential storm surge at any location, given that the exact point of landfall may change in the days prior to the arrival of the storm center. Update Frequency:A storm surge map will be generated once we are relatively confident in the landfall forecast for a tropical Cyclone. This could be one or two days before the arrival of the center. The map will only be updated if there is a change in the projected intensity at landfall or if there is a significant change in the point of landfall.
