  1. The 2th International Conference on Advanced Electromaterials (ICAE 2013) (1-x)K0.5Na0.5Ta0.1Nb0.9O3+xBaTiO3 Lead-Free Piezoelectric CeramicsChing-Hsing Pei1, Kai-Huang Chen2, Ming-Chang Kuan2, Chun-Kai Wang1, Chien-Min Cheng1*1Department of Electronic Engineering, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology, Tainan, Taiwan, R.O.C.2Department of Electronics Engineering and Computer Science, Tung-Fang Design University, Kaohsiung, Taiwan, R.O.C. By the conventional solid state reaction method, lead-free K0.5Na0.5Ta0.1Nb0.9O3 and BaTiO3 ceramics were calcined, respectively. And according to the composition of (1-x)K0.5Na0.5Ta0.1Nb0.9O3 + xBaTiO3 (x=0~0.1), the calcined ceramics were weighted, mixed, grounded, and sintered between 1100 and 1200 C in the air. In addition, we used BaTiO3 ceramics to low down the Curie temperature (TC) of K0.5Na0.5Ta0.1Nb0.9O3 ceramics. From the measured results, it can be observed that as the content of BaTiO3 (x values) increased, the Curie temperature decreased obviously from 390 to 290 C. The orthogonal to tetragonal phase transition temperature (TO-T) also decreased as the BaTiO3 content increased. The relative permittivity εrfor the KNN-BTZ-x ceramics increase with the content of BaTiO3 (x values) increased. (a) X=0, 1100 ℃ (b) X=0.025, 1140 ℃ (c) X=0.05, 1140 ℃ (d) X=0.05, 1170 ℃ (e) X=0.075, 1200 ℃ (c) X=0.1, 1200 ℃ SEM images of the KNN-BTZ-x ceramics XRD patterns of the KNN-BTZ-x ceramics TC and TO-T characteristics of the KNN-BTZ-x ceramics Composition dependences of the KNN-BTZ-x ceramics with 0≦x≦0.1
