  1. TEAM “LEAD TIME WILL KILL YOU!”

Success! • Lead Time • “….there is a big difference between how long something should take you to do it, and how long it takes things to actually get done in the real world.” • It can take 3 weeks to ask one question, arrange a meeting or teleconference! • TEAM requires that you have many balls in the air at one time. • “when you’re waiting on something to go to the next step” • “… start the write up as soon as you can and build a skeleton for the draft which is to be filled in as you progress each week.”

  3. Getting Started With Your Project • Contact (email or phone) your clients and Advisor • Setup a face to face meeting with your group as soon as possible. Give your Advisor the option of attending your client meeting. • Get your client (If in Canada) to sign the work education forms at your first meeting (or courier it to them). • The goal of the first meeting is: • to try to understand the problem as much as you can and be able to communicate this to your advisor and us. • Start process of legal paperwork (confidentiality, waiver of liability, etc.)

  4. Getting Started With Your Project • 1st Progress Report is due Nov 17th • Your goal is to put together the letter of proposal which: • Explains exactly what you think the problem is • Explains exactly what steps and what deliverables you are going to do to solve the problem • a schedule and list of activities that are required to solve the problem. • This letter needs to be reviewed by your advisor, signed by us and your client, prior to Jan start.

  5. Communications • Please cc David.Mody@chee.queensu.ca on your client email correspondence • Please let me know if you are meeting with your client (I may try to attend). • WEBEX accounts... Please send the name and qlink addr for two of your members to paul.hiles@chee.queensu.ca • Phone/FAX & Voice Mail Codes • Sign Authorization form, tear off bottom half for your reference, give authorization half to Maureen or Dave Mody

  6. Work Education Placement Agreement • Fill in per website, sign yourself , have Dave Mody sign, have your client sign, distribute copies per note on bottom Client signs C. if they have WSIB Insurance OR Client signs D. if they do not have WSIB Insurance ! Return PINK copy to Maureen D. Mody
