BeT At a Glance • Total 4 homes at: Kupwara, Beerwah, Anantnag and recently opened a new home in Jammu • Total no of girls at present in all locations = 131 • Beerwah = 43 • Anantnag = 26 • Kupwara = 52 • Jammu = 10 • Budget given by BWF for 150 girls as some admissions happen in the middle of the year (19 girls budget reserved) • Project partners requested total sponsorship for all 82 girls from Kupwara home some of which go to Beerwah school • Children sponsored in 2010 = 63 (out of which 4 dropped, 2 duplicate, 4 still awaiting update), actual count is 57 (=63-6) • Children sponsored for 2011 = 70, added 13 new profiles

  3. 2011-2012 • ASHA – Supporting 70 girls from Kupwara and Beerwah District • Till today BWF received Rs. 694500/- inclusive of tutor cost Out of Rs. 1225000/- approved • ASHA is supporting 70 BET children @ cost of Rs. 17500/child/year and Mr. Imran is supporting Rs. 1700/child/year (Expenses for a child at BET is 19200/child/year) • BWF received Rs.694500/-.from ASHA which we already spent and waiting for the next installment which we egarly waiting now, to maintain requirement of our children we used our corpus funds on the following items during the year. • BWF spent Rs. 9921/- (from ASHA Funds) on each child during the year. • Mr. Imran Sir is sending the donations monthly as per the promise he given to us for 70 children. • From last May 2010 to April 2011we spent funds according to the detail mentioned in the below. • School Uniform & Clothing (winter & summer) 2570 • Study Material 2890 • Food 11050 • Toiletries 560 • Other Accessories 430 • BWF awaiting a next installment of Rs. 530500/- from ASHA for the Year May 2010 - April 2011.

Annual updates for the year 2010 - 2011  • Jan ’10 • Kids visited Pune, Mumbai, Nasik and Delhi for educational tour. • 4 of our kids received national award for photography. • Kids meet Kiren Badi and attended 26th January Parade at Raj path, Delhi. • Feb ’10 • J&K police welcomed the kids after the educational tour. • Children performed a cultural function at Jammu. • Ruhi visited Pune for classical singing training. She sang at Harmony 2010 and also at Akashwani Pune. • Jamila received 1st award for the speech she presented over pollution “Man and Environment”. • Mar ’10: • Ajay shifted to Kashmir as project manager and took spoken English lectures. • Ruqia Pir stood as topper for the Darasga Studies(Religious studies)

Updates 2010-2011 (2) • Apr ’10 • Seema visited Kashmir and took candle making session for the Kupwara home. • May ’10 • Students started with private tuitions. • Valley started facing problem and thus who of Kashmir remained closed after May ’10. • June - Nov ’10 • Valley was going through strikes. • Schools remained closed. • Schools opened only for exams kids gave their board exams without schools and coaching classes due to strikes. • Rohini Muley visited the home during the same time and took up yoga sessions for the body and mind relaxation. • 2 of the kids (SUNITA AND SHAGUFTA) shifted to Jammu for stitching and 1 (Ruhi) for signing classes. Parallely they also studied for their 10th standard.

Updates 2010-2011 (3) • Oct ’10 • Organization received Mother Teressa International Award. • Bipin and Pratik Visited Kupwara, Beerwah and Anantnag. • Nitin visited the Kupwara home and was looking forward to took an imitative to develop Ishrat’s career in Photography • Nov ’10 • Adhik visited Kashmir and Jammu for completing Land need for the houses. Valley was going through strikes. • Gaurav gave a official visit for all the places. • Dec ’10 • Calligraphy and painting classes took place from Dec to next three months. • 5 Kids were admitted in private school – Bilkesha, Ruqia Mohi-ud-din, Ruqia Hasham, Afroza Khan, Afroza Lone

Annual Updates 2011-2012 (1) • Jan ’11 • Schools remained close due to snow fall and the children started with private tuitions. • Results were declared. • Jamila with 78% and Pakeeza with 40% cleared their 10th exam. • Rubeena Aziz cleared 9th board with 46%. • Rubeena with 76%, Sarvar 72%, Khalida with 68% and Kulsuma with 62% cleared 8th standard board exams. • Feb ’11 • 20 children visited Pune, Mumbai, Baramati and Alibaug for the educational tour. • Continued with calligraphy and painting classes. • Suchi from TISS visited all the homes and worked over profile making.

Annual Updates 2011-2012 (2) • Mar ’11 • DSP and ARMY started supporting the house with some requirements. • 20 children who attended the educational tour returned back to Kashmir. • Apr ’11 • Seema visited Kupwara, Beerwah, Anantnag and Barnai. • Beerwah and Anantnag homes were shifted to new homes. • Army supported the homes with medical check-up for ever and generator for Kupwara home. • Jameela shifted to Pune for further education. • Ishrat from Kupwara joints the college for FY BA. • Trust registration took place at Jammu. • Jammu police supported the Jammu homes with some necessities.

Funds Sent to BWF in 2010 • Req Date: Nov 1, 2010 • Amount in USD: $15814 • Tracking: # Borderless World Foundation • Submitted combined online checklist for BeT 2010-2011 1st installment for 2010-2011 release and emergency Tutor funds for Aug –Oct 2010 for BeT on 10-17-2010. • Approved Fund for Tutor Rs 85000/- for 2 tutors for 3 centers for 3 months • BET 2010-2011 second installment not yet released • Req Date: May 25, 2010 • Amount in USD: $8156 • Amount in INR: 382500/- • For second half of funds for 2009-2010 • Exchange Rate: 46.8999156

Status- Present Budget (2010-2011) Vs Last Years Budget (2009-2010) • 2009-2010 • Annual Expenditure per child per year = Rs 15000/- • Actual No of Students sponsored in 2009-10= 57 • Total Funds for 2009-10 for 57 children= Rs15000*57= Rs 855000/- • Funds disbursed in 1st half of 2009-10 = Rs 472500/- • Funds Outstanding for 2009-10 = Rs 855000 – Rs 472500 = Rs 382500/- released on May 25, 2010 • 2010-2011 • Approved Annual Expenditure per child per year = Rs.17500/- • ASHA is supporting 70 BET children @ cost of Rs. 17500/child/year and Mr. Imran is supporting Rs. 1700/child/year (Expenses for a child at BET is 19200/child/year) • Approved 70 Children to be sponsored from BeT for 2010-11 (57 existing students and added 13 new) • New Budget approved for 70 children at Rs 17500 for 2010-2011= Rs.1225000/- • Released till today BWF received Rs. 694500/- Out of Rs. 1225000/- • BWF awaiting a next installment of Rs. 530500/- from ASHA for the Year May 2010 - April 2011.

Budget (2011-2012) • 2011-2012 • Proposed Annual Expenditure per child per year = Rs.19200/- • Currently ASHA is supporting 70 BET children @ cost of Rs. 17500/child/year and Mr. Imran is supporting Rs. 1700/child/year (Expenses for a child at BET is 19200/child/year) • Approved 70 Children to be sponsored from BeT for 2010-11 • No drop outs, no new additions

Existing Sponsors of BWF • Asha for Education – 70 girls at Kupwara, Beerwah, Anantnag • 35 girls from Anantnag home (25) & Jammu (10) are fully sponsored from SPA Education Foundation and Nandini Trust, Mumbai. • SPA Donates 4.8 Lakhs/year (association since 2 years) • Nandini Trust donates 1.68 Lakhs/year (association since 2 years) • GITS Food – 2.4 Lakhs/ year (association since 6 years) • Rotary Club – 1 Lakh/year (association since 5 years) • Bombay Group of Friends – 3 Lakhs/year (association since 1 year) • BWF received in kind donations from J&K Police
