  2. What is Key Club? Key Club is an international student-led organization which provides its members with opportunities to provide service, build character, and develop leadership. It’s the largest of it’s kind in the world- be proud to be a part of it!

  3. How Key Club Works

  4. Committees • You will all belong to at least one committee (although you may attend events from any other committee). You will select two on your application. -Service Committee (canned food drive) -Children’s Harbor (visits to local foster home) -Fundraising (car washes, pancake breakfast, etc.) -Major Emphasis (trick-or-treat for UNICEF) -Joe DiMaggio (make crafts with patients) -Advertising (make banners, flyers, etc. for events) -Kiwanis Family (interaction with Kiwanis, Builder’s Club, K-Kids) -Special Needs Awareness/SNAP (Horses for Handicapped)

How to become a Member Check list: • Completely filled out 2014-2015 membership application (Can be found at PPCHSKeyClub.comunder the files tab). • Attach $20 to your application (cash only!). • Complete 12 hours with our club. • Submit you application and money to Mr. Lawrence's room (D215) no later than Friday, September 26th.

  7. How do I earn those 12 hours? • Mini Golf for ELIMINATE (September 5th)- 2 hours • Blood Drive (September 8th) – 2 hours • Campus Clean Up (September 10th)- 1 hour • Beach Clean up (September 20th)- 4 hours • Car Wash (September 21st)- 4 hours • Visit Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital (September 22nd)- 2 hours • KCKC at Nova (September 27th)- 7 hours • Hope Tote – 3 hours • Donate Pancake Mix (add-water only!) – 1 hour • Donate paint– 1 hour • Sell a Coupon Book– 1 hour

  8. KCKC 7 hours!! • This event will give you more than half of your 12 hours! • KCKC is when all of zone J gets together! You will learn a lot about Key Club, and receive leadership and member training. • You must be there at 9:00am! • You must be dressed in business professional attire! This means suits and ties for the guys, and pants/an appropriate-length skirt, a blouse, and a blazer for girls. (Girls, if you don’t have a blazer, wear a shirt hat covers the shoulders.) • Check in with me after the meeting if you want to attend! (Key Club Kickoff Conference)

  9. 2 hours! Mini Golf for ELIMINATE! • What? Play mini golf with your friends and raise money to fight Maternal and Neonatal Tetanus. Cost is $5. • Where? CB Smith Park (900 N Flamingo Rd, Pembroke Pines, FL 33028). • When? Friday, September 5thfrom 5-7 pm.

  10. Blood Drive 2 hours! • WHEN: Monday, September 8th • Forms will be given out at lunch or in D215. • Parents can also donate for volunteer hours. • Those who donate blood will be given 2 community service hours. • Requirements: You must be over 16 and weigh over 110lbs.

  11. Campus Clean Up! 1 hour! • WHEN: September 10th, 2:00-3:00pm • WHAT: We will go around school and take down all the outdated flyers. • WHERE: We will meet outside Mr. Lawrence's room (D215). • This is a quick way to earn 1 hour!

  12. 4 hours! International Beach Clean Up • WHEN: Saturday, September 20th 9:00am- 11:00am. • WHERE: Hollywood North Beach Park (go east down Sheridan until you reach the beach). • WHAT: Costal clean up to keep our oceans free of litter. • Bring gloves and trash bags!!

  13. 4 hours! Car Wash! • WHAT: We’ll be washing cars to raise money for our club! • WHEN: Sunday, September 21st, 10 am- 2 pm. • WHERE: Walgreens on Pines and 196th Ave. (19550 Pines Blvd Pembroke Pines, FL 33029). • Only a limited number can attend, let Jordan know if you will be going! • To attend, you must bring at least one supply to the wash (bucket, towel, soap, etc.). Let Jordan know what you’re bringing so we can coordinate supplies!

  14. Crafts at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital 2 hours! • WHEN: Monday, September 22ndfrom 3-4pm. • WHERE: Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital (601 N Flamingo Rd, Pembroke Pines, FL 33026). Transportation is NOT provided! • WHAT: You will be making crafts with patients at the hospital. LIMITED NUMBER OF SPOTS- YOU MUST SIGN UP WITH DANNY!

  15. Create a Hope Tote 3 hours! • All hope totes will be going to the homeless! • Fill a bag with at least 4 of the following items: -Toothbrush -Toothpaste (full size) -Shampoo/Conditioner (full size) -Deodorant -Towels -Brushes/combs -Soap -Socks • Remember to put your name on the bag! Bring to Mr. Lawrence’s room (D215) by 9/26.

  16. Donate Paint or Pancake Mix! 1 hour each! (2 hours max, but don’t donate two of either) • Donate 1 large bottle or several small bottles of paint for 1 hour. • Donate a box of add-water-only pancake mix for 1 hour. • This paint will be used for making banners and posters, and the mix is used during the pancake breakfast. • Put your name on your donation and leave it in Mr. Lawrence’s room (D215) by the 26th!

  17. Sell aCoupon Book! 1 hour Coupon book sales help us with our service projects. Sell one book max, worth 1 hour. You MUST either sell your book and give us the money or return the book. Go to Kayla to check out a book. BOOKS ARE SOLD FOR $10. **Money should be brought to Mr. Lawrence as soon as you sell your book** Room D215

  18. Applications, hours, and money are all due Friday, September 26th to Mr. Lawrence’s room (D215). • ALWAYS SIGN IN AND OUT! Each event will have a sign in sheet if you don’t sign in AND out you will not get your hours for that event. WE DO CHECK! • If you know someone who could not make the meeting make sure to tell them this PowerPoint and applications are available on ppchskeyclub.com. • If you have any questions you can email me at kelseylf13@gmail.com or text me at 754-281-5495. Before you leave • If you are planning on going to the car wash, YOU MUST check in with Jordan! • If you plan on going to Joe DiMaggio, YOU MUST check in with Danny! • If you would like to check out a coupon book, go to Kayla. • If you plan on going to KCKC (remember, this gives you over half your hours!) check in with me.
