  1. Digital Learning Month Communications PlanFebruary 2012 Summary February 1 is Digital Learning Day sponsored by the Alliance for Excellent Education. The Ohio Department of Education will use this opportunity to kick off a month-long initiative promoting the integrated use of technology as a teaching tool. The primary message is that technology can be leveraged to encourage a culture of learning and high engagement for problem-based learning and 21st century skills. ODE will partner with eTech, University System of Ohio, INFOhio and Knowledge Works to showcase various resources Need/Opportunity Teachers District leaders including principals and superintendents Families Students Local board of education members Intended Audiences Components Feature topics on a daily basis, loosely following this format: Monday - digital resource/actual tool; Tuesday – Ohio digital story; Wednesday - webinar(live or recycled); Thursday – resource used in other states; Friday – digital resource/actual tool Design Digital web page for ODE website (including chat feature) Introduce a new ODE Facebook page targeted at teachers Identify communication tactics for each audience Coordinate schedule of information release for each audience Analyze information accessed Measures of Success The number of people who opt in to group mailing list as well as amount of sharing via social media (re-tweets , shares, etc.) 1
