  2. What is the name of your animal, include class? • My animal is the Roadrunner. • The Roadrunner is a feathered, winged, warm blooded animal that belongs to the Ave class.

  3. On what continent can you find your animal? • The Roadrunner is found on the continent of North America. • You can find the Roadrunner southwestern United States and Mexico

  4. Describe your animal. Include its • The Roadrunner is a medium-sized ground and dwelling, bird. • It has distinctive long legs

  5. Describe its home? • The habitat of the Roadrunner is usually a few feet above ground in bushes, trees, or cactus. • Both the male and female will build the nest and it may be rebuilt from sticks, leaves or other materials.

  6. How does it reproduce? • The male Roadrunner offers a gift of a lizard or insect to the female. • The female Roadrunner lays approximately 2-8 eggs every 1-4 days. • Both parents will incubate the eggs sun until they hatch after about 18 days.

  7. What does it eat? • Insects, snakes, lizards, rodents, small birds, fruit and seeds. • Beats its captured prey against a rock or other hard object to crush the bones, so it may be swallowed whole.

  8. List two characteristics or adaptations • Greater Roadrunners measure 61 cm (2 feet) in length, about half of which is tail. • They have long, wobbly legs and a slender, pointed bill.
