CMDFA National Bible Study Curriculum • “The National Curriculum is a set of Bible studies designed to encourage you in your relationship with the Lord, and your service to the Lord, through the many challenges and the many opportunities that your training, and future profession, will present you.” • 15 modules, each containing 2- 10 studies per module. • For small groups / individuals

  8. A summary of 9 studies from the CMDFA National Bible study curriculum • 9 studies selected from 9 modules • E.g. • Module : WHY MEET AS CHRISTIANS IN HEALTHCARE?’ • Study: The Dangers of being a Health Care Student – Drifting and Entanglement

  9. Objective: • To recognize and identify the key areas in a medical student’s and health professional’s life that could potentially threaten their Christian faith • To recognize that Jesus Christ enables us to over come these obstacles

Key points • There are areas in our lives that may potentially cause us to drift away from God, such as external influences, our life circumstances, social expectations, etc. • As we look to Jesus and focus on Jesus’ work on the cross we are able to overcome these temptations and to “run the race” • Verses: Hebrews 2:1-4, Hebrews 12:1-3

Guidelines for using resources • Flexibility • Tailor the use of resources to needs of individual being mentored • A suggested approach to using the resources • At the start of the mentoring relationship: • review Part 5 of the mentee application form: Vision for mentoring • discuss what other spiritual supports / input the individual being mentored has

  12. Guidelines for using resources • decide the specifics of what they would like to do during their mentoring time, including what bible study they would like to do
