  2. WWK • How scientists use geophysical methods, new conceptual interpretations of data and analysis of geography to study the geosphere.

  3. Who studies the Geosphere? • The Geosphere is studied by Geologists and Geophysicists. • Geophysicist: study the physical characteristics of the Earth, and the Earth's relationship to the rest of the universe. • Geologist: specializes in geologic research and study.

  4. How do geologists study the earth's interior? • Geologists have came to believe that the Earth's interior is based on the reactions of seismic waves from earthquakes to the density and state of materials that they encounter. • Rock that is torn off by volcanism is also another indicator of what lies below the surface. • The study of Earth's magnetic field and gravitational belongings also indicate what lies deep in Earth's interior.

  5. How do geologists locate the epicenter of an earthquake? • They need 3 seismic stations. Then, they draw circles around them depending on the feet away from the epicenter and the point in which all 3 circles meet is the epicenter on an earth quake.
