  2. Today’s Agenda • Robot of the week • Teams • Introduction to Mindstorms • Assemble Kits • 8:20 Clean up

  3. Robot of the Day • Sojourner Truth Rover from the Mars Pathfinder Mission (1997) • Picture was taken by the lander on the surface of Mars • Had to make decisions on its own to avoid obstacles and perform its mission.

  5. Today’s Challenge: Intro to Mindstorms • Start Mindstorms Robotic Invention System 2.0 • Make sure you can hear the sounds • Take turns with your partner • Create a new user “Team _” • Begin Training Missions • Complete the Introduction • Complete Exercise 1 “This is the RCX”

  6. Choose “Run”

  7. Create a new user “Team _”

  8. Choose “Missions”

  9. Choose “Training Missions”

  10. Do Introduction, then Mission 1

  11. When finished, Click on Main Menu  

  12. Exit

  13. Activity: Assemble Team Kit • Each kit has 3 boxes: 1, 2, 3 • Bins are named by rows (A, B, C, D) and columns (1, 2, 3, …) • Inventory lists parts and quantity for each bin • We will fill the kits starting with box 1, row A, column 1, 2, 3… (1-A1, 1-A2, 1-A3…) • Neat kits: neat treats • We probably will not finish tonight • Kit picture
