EUCALIPTO (Eucaliptus globulus) DESCRIPCION Arbol magnífico, espectacular y de elevada talla, llega a alcanzar los 70 m de altura y los 2 m de diámetro en nuestro país, aunque normalmente supera los 50 m de altura y los 1,50 m de diámetro medido a 1,30 m de altura sobre el suelo (denominada "altura normal" o "altura del pecho"). El mayor ejemplar que se cita en España es el eucalipto de Charia (Vivero, Lugo) con 80 m de altura y más de 6 m de circunferencia en la base del tronco. Estas enormes dimensiones se alcanzan en árboles de avanzada edad, aislados o en alineaciones, pero nunca en cultivos forestales, pues en éstos se cortan para su aprovechamiento maderero cuando todavía tienen dimensiones bastantes menores.
