Benefits • More users • Allows “non-traditional” users access to data previously available only through Nlets or NCIC • Could target small police agencies, probation officers, domestic violence advocates, victims service officers, etc. • More data • Detailed custody data • School attendance data for school resource officers • More affordable • Allows for secure transmission of data via the internet • Supplies a “generic” portal site for states or agencies without federated querying capability

Privacy Policy • CONNECT has developed a privacy policy to cover DL exchanges in a production environment • Meets legal requirements of current member states • Defines authorized purposes for accessing information via the portal • Establishes policies for secondary dissemination • Details logging & auditing requirements • Describes enforcement policies for misuse • Is extensible to other states & data stores
