  1. Document review is an integral part of E-Discovery E-Discovery denotes process of discovery in legal proceedings wherein information sought is stored in electronic format termed as Electronically Stored Information (ESI). All documents carrying ESI are reviewed under a process called Document review, during the course of litigation. Document review process imposes significant costs on the clients which enhances the total cost of litigation by manifold. Document review has become a regular challenge for the clients facing with the choice of policies, procedures and technologies, and it is prudent to outsource it, for a hassle-free, cost effective, quality packed and a timely job. Before outsourcing Document review process to a legal process outsourcing (LPO) company, clients generally consider major factors namely staffing, service level metrics and quality considerations, data protection, privacy, third party’s consent, and client’s consent. Most of the clients at the outset of granting a Document review project to a LPO company evaluate all relevant implications such as cross-border data flow, commercial judicial rules and legal and ethical requirements. LPO companies should strive hard to balance cost-controlling activities and quality of work and project a fair picture of its capabilities before accepting Document review projects. *************************************************************** 1
