  3. Science Scholarship 1 • Criteria: • Singaporean or Permanent Resident • L1R5 – 8 or less • Studying Science • CCA records, esp. in science & technology

  5. Science Scholarship 2 • Scholarship value: $1000 per year • 2nd year subject to excellent result • PLUS … monthly school fees covered! • NO bond!

  6. Science Scholarship 2 • Opportunities for research & talks at A*STAR RIs • Must be Singaporean • Application starts in March 2008

  7. Science Research 1 • SRP = students with strong interests in R & D • Research at NUS • 100 spaces available after aptitude test • Research can be converted to H3 Subject • But Application is closed now.

  8. Science Research 2 • NRP = organised by NTU • Similar to SRP • Projects can also be converted H3 Subject • Criteria: • L1R5 – 12 & below, At least A2 for Eng, 1 Math, 1 Sci.

  9. Science Research 2 • Selection Process: • Online: www.ntu.edu.sg/nrp/ • BUT… Need password to start (issued by the school) • Submit school application for by this fri, 22 Feb • School will issue password by next Tues, 26 Feb • Complete Online Registration by next Thurs, 28 Feb

  10. Science Research • Selection Process (cont’d): • When shortlisted, interview by prospective mentor • Note: School can only submit 10 candidates! • NRP 2008 Timeline: • 28 Feb → Dec 2008 → Feb 2009 → March 2009! • Project titles

MOE Overseas Attachment Criteria: • Singaporeans or Permanent Residents; • excellent GCE ‘O’ Level: Maths & Add Maths both A1 2 pure Sciences both A1 English Language A1 or A2 1 Humanities A1 or A2 1 other subject A1 or A2 • outstanding CCA records • meeting pre-requisites of selected programme

MOE Overseas Attachment What’s available: • Centre of Excellence in Education Summer Programme, USA (22 Jun to 02 Aug 08) • International Science and Engineering Camp, Korea (20 Jul to 27 Jul 08) • London International Youth Science Forum, UK (23 Jul to 06 Aug 08) • International Summer School for Young Physicists, Canada (22 Jul to 03 Aug 08 or 08 Aug to 20 Aug 08) • Asian Science Camp, Indonesia (03 Aug to 10 Aug 08) • International Space Camp, USA (26 Jul to 31 Jul 08)

  14. MOE Overseas Attachment Selection Process: • Submission of application form by Fri,22 Feb. • Note: Requires Sec Principals’ support & signature AND • Nomination by JC(PAE) Principal • 2 rounds of interviews

  15. MOE Overseas Attachment Expectations: • Submission of written report. • Conduct sharing sessions to school & next batch of students Note: You can automatically apply for local attachment programme if you don’t get this one.

  16. MOE Local Attachment Research experience at A*STAR RIs & TLL@NUS • 4-8 weeks long • REAP is 8 weeks • Application starts end March. • Projects are in Computing, Life Science, Programming, etc
