  2. What are your expectations for this book? What do you think it will be about? Why do you think so? • My expectations for this book was a war book because Ryan had a gun in his hand on the title page with his uniform. I think this book will about fighting in Iraq and getting into training for the military because I looked at the back of the book.

  3. What predictions can you make about the characters, the setting or the plot? Define the genre of your book? Ryan Smithson will talk his war life and how that one day affect him. The setting will be Iraq, military training. The genre of this book is war.

  4. How does the story make you feel? Can you relate to the story? • While I was reading this book I felt horrified. Yes, I can because I felt terrible when 9/11 happened.

  5. Write down a line that you think is especially interesting. Explain why you think so. • “If I don’t do something, who will?” I think this is interesting because that’s what he thought on 9/11.

  6. Who is the narrator of the story? What point of view does the author use? How would the story be different if a different character was the narrator? • The narrator for this book was the author also known as Ryan Smithson. • His training, combat and leave to war and home. • If the story would be different from a different author, I wouldn’t the mental trauma

  7. Who is your favorite character? Explain why. • My favorite character was Ryan because he told me how war can affect you during a leave and after war.

  8. What did you think of the ending? Did the book end the way you expected? • I thought the ending was a heart warming ending because it was talking about faith and how there is no faith in war. I didn’t expected because I thought it would end when he goes back and hangs out with his wife.

  9. Is the title appropriate for the book? If so, why? If not, think of a better title that would be more appropriate. • Ghost of War is appropriate for this book because there are “Ghosts” in war when people dies.

  10. Would you read another book by the same author? Why or why not? • I would another book from the author if its about war because I wouldn’t like to read a book other than from this author.

  11. If this story were to be made into a movie what would be the opening scene? What would be the closing scene? What actors would you choose to play the main characters. • My opening scene would be the 9/11 attack on Twin Towers and I would show how people was affected in the attack. The closing scene would be when Ryan is at home and hanging out with his wife. • Ryan Smithson- Matt Damon • Heather Smithson-Kirsten Dunst
