  2. DBQ Adjustable Supports. Types. For TM (LAB and CLEX) DBQ Adjustable support Hexapod type (concept), M. Sosin Previous presentation: • http://indico.cern.ch/getFile.py/access?contribId=1&sessionId=1&resId=0&materialId=slides&confId=178058

  3. Summary of the meeting (Alignment-Magnet-Integration) • Following the meeting with the alignment group (Helene) and magnet group (Michele) the following was summarized: • 2 movements instead of 4 in the present configuration are necessary (simplifies the design, see next slide): • - transversal (includes rotation around vertical axis), range +-1mm • - vertical (including two tilts DOF), range +-1mm • The adjustable support can be fixed on both: Boostec and Epucret girders with minor changes of the load-bearing frame • Problem of the fixation in the final adjusted position: the present design concept includes the system of fixation using standard screws which can detune the position during fixation. The fixation system will be redesigned. The solution is under investigation by the alignment group. • Ball transfer units, used for reduction of friction, can deform the plate they are travelling on and loose the accuracy of the system. This plate have to be hardened (one of the possible ways might be to use thermal hardening, then grinding) • The support can be used for DBQ mock-up and DBQ (Danfysik) • The DBQs used in the test program were summarized (extra slide)

  4. DBQ SS Update • The design is simplified. The quantity of parts is decreased • Parts don’t require high precision machining • Intermediate plate has to be adopted for further grinding
