Needs Assessment: • Learner is not informed on how to apply Photo Story 3 to make their own personal story. • Learner is not informed of how to transfer pictures and background music to their personal story. • Learner is not informed on how to edit pictures and music to make their story personal and special. • Learner is not informed on how to save their story so that they may retrieve it and show to others

  3. Needs Assessment • The tutorial will allow the learner to be able to produce a story for either personal use or presentation. • In the end, the learner will be able to produce a story using Photo Story 3 and its components

Instructional Goal: By the end of this tutorial, the learner will be able to produce their own personal story by transferring photos and background music and editing any photos or music using different editing techniques and then be able to save their story for later retrieval for personal use or for presentation

Performance Objectives: Using Photo Story 3 (CN) the learner will transfer photos (B) with 90% accuracy.(CR) Using Photo Story 3 (CN) the learner will transfer background music (B) with 90% accuracy. (CR) Using Photo Story 3(CN) the learner will add text to some or all their photos(B) with 90% accuracy.(CR)

  10. Learner Characteristics: • The learners for this tutorial will need to have some basic knowledge on using a computer and downloading software programs such as Photo Story 3. They must also need to have basic English skills since the tutorial will be in English instructions. The learner must also have some kind of photos or are aware of uploading photos from internet to computer. • The intended tutorial is mainly for teachers and any other educators, but may be used by anyone who possess the qualified skills.

  11. Learning Context: • The learner will be able to begin to follow the tutorial at home, at school or at work. Photo Story 3 can be opened at any time once it has been downloaded. The learner can open up and edit their story at anytime to their convenience. • If the learner prefers and has the knowledge, they may save their work on a pindrive.

  12. Training Module Outline: • Introduction: (a) Overview of Training This tutorial on Photo Story 3 will give you the ability to make something that will either assist you in a presentation or allow you to share with others very special moments gathered in a story.

Training Module Outline: • Introduction: (b) Statement of Goal and Objectives By following this tutorial, you will be able to do the following: (a) transfer personal photos or internet images to your story (b) add text to all or some of your photos (c) add special effects to all or some of your photos (d) transfer background music to your story (e) save your story so that you may later retrieve it at any time for show.

Lesson 1: Transfer Photos The learner will learn how to open up Photo Story 3 and click on Begin a New Story The learner will then click on import pictures where the learner’s picture files will open . The learner will then select a photo to add to their story The learner will do this step as many times as needed.

  15. Lesson 2: Add Text to Photos The learner will click on Next to get to the text box. The learner will then click on whatever picture they would like to add text. The learner will then choose their font, color and position for their text. The learner will then add text to as many photos as needed.

Lesson 3: Add Special Effects • The learner will learn to add special effects such as voice recordings, customized motions and transitions to all or some photos. • The learner will click on voice recording button to record sayings for any or all photos. • The learner will click on customize motion button to choose different times for any or all photos to be displayed with. • The learner will click on transition button to have any or all photos come in with different styles.

Lesson 4: Add Background Music • The learner will learn to click on Next and enter the music box. • The learner will click on Select Music where the music file will open • The learner will then click and add their music choice. • The learner will then learn to choose how high or low the music will be for their background music.

  18. Lesson 5: Save Photo Story • The learner will learn to click on Next and enter the Save Your Story Box. • The learner will then choose the setting of where to save their story • The learner will then click Next to save their story.

Instructional Resources: • The instructional resources that the learner will need in order to complete this tutorial will be a computer, either at home, work or school, downloaded free Photo Story 3 software, access to photos, either from personal file or internet images saved in personal file, background music downloaded into music file on computer, email, and basic English skills and common knowledge on basic use of the computer.

  22. Formative Evaluation: • Assessment Evaluation: This will be in the form of a ten question quiz about the step by step process. The ruberic will be on whether the learner was able to complete each step with at least 90% accuracy. • The feedback survey will be given to all who participated and will consist of what the individual believed the tutorial was and what areas they felt needed to be worked on and what areas they were able to use. They will send this through email process.

  23. Summary • The Photo Story 3 tutorial is a basic software program that anyone can use such as teachers, for presentations or personal use. This basic tutorial is easy to learn and very simple for those that acquire the basic knowledge of computer use. By completing this tutorial, the learner will be able to accomplish making their story very useful in the classroom or work area or just around freinds and family.
