  1. Lewis Letter # 6Floorball/Hockey and Sportsmanship and Bullying Parents and teachers, Our first semester is coming very close to an end! Hard to believe time is going so fast. We have completed our Tball/Softball unit. The students focused on various skills and with modifications and repetition we made lots of progress! We are moving into the unit of floorball/hockey. It is a great follow up to Tball because the students are using a striking implements. We will focus on the skills of dribbling, passing, and shooting. As we get better we will work on two part skills of dribble and then shoot as well as receiving a pass and then shooting. We will discuss the safety aspect of the equipment as well as all the different surfaces the sport can be played on. The health lesson topic is sportsmanship and bullying. We will practice in class how to cheer for our teammates and congratulate our opponents. Giving high fives, saying “good job”, “nice work”, and being a good sport. We will also address the topic of bullying. The students will learn what bullying is and if it occurs to them or to someone what they should do to get help and how to best handle it. We will not finish this unit before the end of the semester break but we will finish when return back to school. Hoping everyone has a wonderful break Coach Tina Lewis
