  1. pollution By: Brady Absher & Bradley Darmi Pollution and how it affects our would? 2/7/12 Pd. 5

  2. Description and scope of the problem. • Air pollution caused by cars can produce toxic gases such as carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxide, sulfur dioxide, and few carbon dioxides along with other small amounts of gases. • Also it can cause us to live shorter lives. Such as it can cause asthma, lung cancer, and heart disease.

  3. Root causes of the problem. • The root cause of the problem is that cars emit toxic gases into the air we breath. Cars pollute the air and can even be the cause for global warming. Also diesel is worse than gasoline engines when it comes to pollution most of the time. Usually they emit more of the harmful gases that are bad for our bodies.

  4. National issue. • The national issue is that cars emit most of the gases from exhaust more than anything else and could cause the entire would to suffer. For example if the glaciers all melted the world would flood and we would suffer from being submerged under water. If we do not stop this problem we will be sorry for it in the end.

  5. 3 possible solutions. 1.Using ethanol fuels instead of petroleum to minimize pollution. 2.Using electric or hybrid cars to stop pollution. 3. Using biodiesel for diesel engines and decrease fumes and add high fuel efficiency.

  6. The best solution. • The best solution would be to use high ethanol fuels and using electric and hybrid cars while using biodiesel for big trucks to decrease pollution and use a natural resource like corn instead of oil.

  7. Why this solution is best? • This is the best solution because it provides us with better ways of saving our planet and helps us out by not taking away the vehicles we need. Such as using biodiesel because we cant just stop trucking completely.

  8. Who it affects and how? • Us as humans are affected by the pollution. There are harmful gases like carbon dioxide that can kill us early in life. Also it can cause global warming hurting wildlife habitats such as melting the ice in Antarctica. These harmful gases could give us and infants diseases. Lastly, sulfur dioxide can kill a human in just one-millionth of an ounce. Now that's something to think about every time you start your car up.

  9. Letter • …Cars pollution and how it affects our world today… • Cars air pollution affects our world today by by putting off unwanted gases into our atmosphere such as carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxide, sulfur dioxides and other small gases. These gases can cause us to have our live shortened now would you rather use better fuel or live shorter? • Pollution can kill us and animals also. Now I believe the worst gas is sulfur because its so piousness that 1 millionth of an ounce can kill a human easily. These gases can kill us and hurt us badly by giving infants diseases. The big problem is these gases that our cars today release can help cause global warming and the more of global warming occurs the land we stand on can be under water from glaciers melting. Now by us putting these gases in the air only helps global warming occur even faster. And I do not believe anybody wants that. • Some solutions that very well could help today’s problem is by using ethanol fuels in all of our cars instead of the kind of gas we use now which is petroleum fuels. Or another good solution would by using hybrid cars which are electric. Which do not cause harm to are world or add to global warming. Also we could use biodiesel fuels instead of diesel. This would help decrease toxic gases being released into our environment and use a natural resource such as corn. Thank you for listening to us about the bad toxins I hope you do something to help our environment. • Sincerely, Bradley D’armi and Brady Absher • Contact information: Bradyabsher@yahoo.com phone: 302-396-0248

  10. contacts • Names: Senator Chris Coons, senator Tom Carper, and Representative John Carney • Email: carper.senator.gov • Email: coons.senator.gov • Email: johncarney.house.gov • We contacted you because we wanted to stop the disastrous fight of air pollution and want to stop or slow air pollution. Please response because this is a big problem in our nation.
