  1. Building Your Schedule This is a great opportunity for you to build the schedule that you would like to have next year. Remember – Schedule your courses with a purpose… Do NOT build your schedule because you and a friend or girlfriend/boyfriend want all the same classes together. Remember the policy regarding classes…You will NOT be allowed to change your schedule once it is built unless you have a valid educational reason and it is prior to the start of the term.

  2. To Build Your Schedule you will need to have the following items: • Blank Grid • List of Course Requests (Handed out during BRONCO Period or you can look them up online in your Skyward Account) • Master Schedule • Skyward Login/Password(Handed out during BRONCO Period)

  3. When choosing where to place your courses on your grid you should schedule them in the following order: • 1st – Schedule make-up or failed courses • 2nd – Classes offered only one time • 3rd – Required courses • 4th - Elective courses (art, tech.ed, etc.) • 5th - use your alternates to complete your two grids (if your initial 16 course requests do not allow you to fill in both grids completely).

  4. Helpful Tips • When scheduling a two term class it is best to have the same teacher for both terms, especially in MATH. • If absolutely necessary, you could choose to have the same class in different hours, different terms. Ex: Term 1 Jr. English could be 1st hour, Term 2 Jr. English could be 3rd hour. Again, this is not recommended unless you can choose the same teacher. • Make sure you check the prerequisites for the courses. • Try to balance your schedule – not loading up on all electives in one term and all core academics in the next. • Write the course name AND course number on your grid. • Be flexible – a course might be filled when it is your turn to schedule, have a back up plan. • Ask for help when you have questions.

  5. Helpful hints continued… • Yearbook and 4th hour PE classes fill up quickly. Be prepared with an alternate. • Look over graduation requirements. If room in your schedule work to fulfill these early, this will allow more options as a junior and senior. • Remember to check out the curriculum guide for course descriptions (online or using the paper version).
