  1. Natural gas and diamonds By: Lauryn Jackson

  2. What are they used for? • Diamonds are used for any things like cutting, polishing hard metals and many other things. They are also used for jewelry. • Natural gases are used for heating homes, schools and hospitals. The gas is very similar to air.

  3. What is the effect of the use of these resources on the earth? • Diamonds: people hurt the environment by mining for diamonds and disturbing land and the habitats which are there. Its effect causes animal populations to now not have homes. • Natural gases: this is one of the cleanest fossil fuels used and it also helps earth because it doesn’t pollute the air with smog like most energy fuels.

  4. What is the effect of the use of these resources on organisms? • Diamonds: This nonrenewable object is harmful to organisms because in order to find them you need to mine for them and mining would cause holes in the ground so animals habitats are destroyed.  •Natural Gases: This gas is effective because marine organisms mainly are harmed because of the oil hydrocarbon in the waters is bad for them because is makes their living environment smaller because of the oils and carbon.

  5. How are they turned into useful energy? • Diamonds: Diamonds can’t be turned into useful energy because it wouldn’t be able to charge anything or be useful in any way. • Natural gas is already a useful energy because it has natural substances in it. The gas is used to heat homes and buildings. We could also use this for fueling natural gas cars.

  6. What are some dangers when transporting these resources? • Diamonds: diamonds aren’t very dangerous because they are a very tough but smooth object so it takes lots to get diamonds to explode or ignite because of its material. • NG: natural gas could ignite if there Is a pipeline leak at anytime because it is very similar to gas.

  7. Damage to the environment • Diamonds are only found by mining. Mining means to blow up the ground in order to find the diamonds. Animals that live there are being harmed and losing population because we are blowing up their homes. • Natural gas is a very dangerous hazard to the environment because if it is to ignite that could cause a massive fire which means homes, land, buildings, and the air is destroyed.

  8. Clean up… • Diamond mines can’t necessarily be cleaned up, but they can be filled in and I personally don’t think that will happen for a while because they dig so deap. • Natural gas is cleaned up by water, foam and the fire department. Some times they may use retardant to get it out.
