Fasting blood glucose test

The Fasting Blood Glucose (FBS) test is a laboratory test used to measure the amount of glucose (sugar) in the blood after a person has fasted for 8u201312 hours. Only water is allowed during the fasting period.<br><br>This test helps in the diagnosis and monitoring of diabetes mellitus and prediabetes. It shows how well the body maintains blood sugar levels when no food is being consumed.
