  1. LIGHTING IDEAS Holiday Decorating

  2. Holiday Decorating • The holidays bring the opportunity to celebrate light during what is traditionally the darkest natural light season of the year. As you plan and determine your decorations, remember the most important aspect is to create your own traditions that are meaningful to you and your family and friends. • What’s more festive than the lights and decorations of the season? Experts advise that the first step in decking the halls is to choose a theme. That can be a color scheme ranging from an including: • pink • gold • traditional red and green • silver • old fashioned green and white • winter white • blue • a particular style of a country– such as Scandinavian, or • a particular type of decoration in all types of materials – such as stars

  3. Holiday Decorating • Look at the areas in your home you plan to decorate, and even those you might not consider decorating at first blush. Mantles, staircases, entryways, doorways, bathrooms. A second look might reveal that accents, such as a small warm holiday lamp that casts a glow, might be just what your powder room needs. • Consider greenery – evergreens or uncommon branches from your yard, decorations, ribbon colors and wreaths to dress up your room. Add strands of small white, colored or multi-color lights to the greenery to create a beautiful soft glow.

  4. Holiday Decorating • Candles accent your decorations with light. Consider changing bulb colors for the season – or even fixtures! Safety Quick Light makes it easy -- and safe-- to change your fixtures to include wreathes, special holiday motifs or to hang a beautiful tiffany pendant star. Most lighting for decorative purposes will be ambient or soft lighting. • For outdoor holiday decorations, again choose your theme/colors first. Coordinate outdoor fixtures and your homes exterior with the lights and decorations that you choose to use outdoors. You can even use colored bulbs to carry through the theme or cast a different glow.
