    5. 10/13/2011 5 What Does AFTOC Bring to the Table Scope – Today This chart shows the size and scope of AFTOC and to introduce new additions. Previously AFTOC contained only engine commodity data in aggregate, now: Commodities data can be viewed by MAJCOM Expanded cost coverage (manpower, spares, DPEM, etc)of engines For each MD in the CAIG format, engines can be analyzed separately Engine TMSs now have their own CAIG format We now will be able to get better insight into total commodities cost with the inclusion of the D035K feed We will be to provide mod detail in the Appropriations format by including summary information from the IDOCS database.This chart shows the size and scope of AFTOC and to introduce new additions. Historically these were stove pipe systems in that they did not talk or interface with each other. What AFTOC has done is to collect all of this data and store it in a common data warehouse at Hill AFB. The advantage is that it allows data to be displayed together in a meaningful manner. For Financial and Mod Data we use: Command On-line Accounting and Reporting System (COARS) Automated Budget Interactive Data Environment System (ABIDES) Investment budget DOCumentation System (IDOCS) For Flying Hours, Inventory, and Performance data we use: Reliability and Maintainability Information System (REMIS) For Personnel data we use: Military Personnel Data System (E300Z extract) Automated Budget Interactive Data Environment System (ABIDES) AFI 65-503 For Logistics data we use: Combat Ammunition System (CAS) Fuels Automated Management System (FAMS) Standard Base Supply System (SBSS) – we get over 200 daily feeds from bases world-wide D035K to pick up depot supply transactionsThis slide depicts the Data Sources of AFTOC.     9. 10/13/2011 9 What AFTOC Brings to the Table Data Outputs This chart represents the various outputs of AFTOC. Standard products are canned reports which can be displayed both as HTML or Excel. This product is for fast answers to simple questions and are great for managers. We also have data cubes for most of the data that can be accessed with an online analytical processing tool which is really an Excel Pivot table. This tool is for analysts who need to get into the details of the data and who need to make comparisons over time or organizations The Account Tool is a brand new application that allows users to access supply transactions in something we call the Logistics Distribution Table. This table captures millions of pieces of information about the parts our systems use. Users can also request special data requests that would have to have a customized query built to obtain the product. The metadata is data about data or in other words help screens about the data.
