  2. In today’s modern world the supply chain strategy plays a great role to compete in the market. Optimization plays a great role in Supply Chain Management. To Optimize the supply chain a good implementation of ERP is mandatory and this is very critical in business. To overcome all hurdles in- manufacturing, retailing distribution and shipping management activities, we need to implement a good ERP.

  3. Let us see how a ERP can help us optimize the Supply Chain :- Inventory management- ERP helps in controlling and managing inventory. It helps in monitoring supplies and gauge demand. This avoids the huge losses and over purchased and unused items. It helps to get the information about the market demand, specific product availability data and supply information. Proper communication- Supply Chain ERP helps in inter department communication, reduces communication errors by implementing a centralized database. Auto generated reports are there so that it can be viewed by people with access rights. Communication transparency can be ensured and it reduces confusion and delays. Production improvement- ERP system makes the visibility to the production process. It creates the Bill of Material (BOM) for each item. When the production process starts it provides the availability of resources like machine and labour in real time. Shipping documents are recorded by the ERP system for an error free shipment.

  4. Shipment- ERP system creates the invoice when the item has been shipped. It tracks all the levels of delivery and makes sure it delivers to the customer without any difficulty faced. It also ensures the packaging quality and material used. It provides the ease to maintain the data of the item purchased and delivered to the customer. Performance of Staff- Supply chain ERP maintains all the data of employees and their jobs, progress and performance. It can analyse and generate reports of the suppliers to provide their details like how many times have they supplied on time or achieved their targets etc.
