Hollywood Star had none of the same charm that Drama Queen had, and the plot was completely dull

2. and repetitive. I honestly think the best part of the book was the chapter titles. The book was entirely too plot-driven, with no character development, and you know why? Because all of the character development was done in Drama Queen! Once you actually get your way through this book, the ending is rushed and hectic and the whole book just feels like a disappointment. Sheldon should have just stopped at Drama Queen, because I can call this nothing more than a pathetic flop.Rating: 1/5 Dyan Sheldon's comically melodramatic heroine casts her best friend, Ella, in a supporting role as they conspire to land a part in a real-live movie that's filming tantalizingly close to home.After enduring years of angst, Lola is graduating from high school and finally getting out of Dellwood "Deadwood," New Jersey. Lola, a master white liar, cannot resist boasting that she has been cast for a small part, despite having no legitimate connections. Not to be outdone, Carla convinces her influential father to house the movie's stars, and, unable to resist Carla's taunts, Lola vows to right this grievous wrong. Her optimism is contagious and her antics will amuse readers while causing them to cringe with embarrassment. The drama that the teen manufactures is at last curbed when she encounters true injustice. Lola gains astuteness points by acknowledging that sometimes she is her own worst enemy. Sheldon skillfully blends elaborate schemes with comedic execution, and her messagethat ambition is a dish best served with a side of perspectiveis a positive one. The conclusion, while cookie- cutter neat, will please fans of the first book.
