All You Need to Know About Your O1 Visa Interview

To qualify for the O1 visa, there is a long list of possible evidence that can be presented to the U.S. embassy to prove your extraordinary ability.   2. O1 Visa Overview The O1 visa is granted to individuals with extraordinary abilities in a variety of specific fields. Depending on the field of your extraordinary ability, you may qualify for one of the two O1 categories i.e. O-1A: who demonstrate extraordinary achievement in the fields of business, science, education, or athletic and O-1B for individuals those who possess extraordinary ability in the field of arts, television, or film. Any applicant applying for an O1 visa must have a job offer in the United States and must visit the U.S. for employment in the same field that they have demonstrated their extraordinary skills in.

To qualify for O1 Visa, you need to demonstrate extraordinary ability by presenting proof of your abilities to the U.S. embassy which may include any major awards or prizes like an Olympic medal or Pulitzer prize, Published articles in major academic journals, Original research in an academic field, etc. As you file an O1 visa application and submit all the required documents, you may have to pass your O1 visa interview to finally get your visa approved.

  7. You must take all these documents to the U.S. consulate or embassy on your appointment date. Once your biometrics is taken, you are then called for your O1 visa interview. Your interview may last for around 20 minutes. If the interview goes well, your visa will be put into your passport and you can finally travel to the U.S. as an O1 visa holder.

Where will you be living in the U.S. on arrival? Have you ever been convicted of any crime? Which awards have you received for your work?
